Either in ”Activity” posts or comments on blog posts GuideGatineau users can add their own photos simply by including a flickr URL for the video within their post or comment.
If you don’t have a flickr account you can email your photo to the GuideGatineau flickr account, get the URL from there, then paste it into your post or comment.
    To do that:
    1) email your photo to flickr@guidegatineau.ca
    2) look for it at http://www.flickr.com/photos/29538918@N05/
    3) click your photo so it shows alone on the flickr page
    4) use that flickr URL to paste into a GuideGatineau activity post or comment

Charles Hodgson posted an update in the group Ottawa Ski Club 100th Anniversary:   3 months, 1 week ago · View In May I attended a planning meeting organized by the Camp Fortune Ski Club to mark this 100th anniversary. The Canadian Ski Museum was also represented.
Most in attendance were alpine skiers but the general desire was to include all skiers in the celebration. One of the objectives is to undertake one or more legacy projects that will last beyond this anniversary and the following were among those suggested:
    (a) To restore the monument to Charles E Mortureux that stands vandalized near the site of Chalet des Erables (that’s up the valley above Camp Fortune).
    (b) To commemorate some of the historic cross country ski trails developed by the OSC by resurrecting their trail names (most trails are now identified by number).
I took on the task of talking to the NCC about the potential for these to actually happen, and the task of reaching out to the cross country ski community to invite them to join in marking the occasion. I am happy to report progress on both fronts. Other skiers and clubs have expressed interest and the NCC response has been positive as well.
I’ll post more details soon but in the mean time you can JOIN the 100th ANNIVERSARY GROUP here at GuideGatineau to be sure you’re in the loop.
