2011-03-10 Trail #70 by Marc Charron

Conditions were packed all the way to Healey, slight covering of fresh snow on the way back.

It’s still snowing in the foothills of the Gatineau’s this morning (conditions may have improved since last night) but rain should reach us around 11:30 this morning (Saturday)

Congratulations!

By Marc Charron: Congratulations to Charles, Guide Gatineau is listed #3 on the “”26 Essential Ottawa Blogs – The 2011 Edition” on Ottawa Start blog.

Jan 9th Trail #74

Trail #74 was in good condition but the snow cover wasn’t as thick as the Wolf-Blanchet loop yesterday.  Still a fair number of small branches and stumps sticking out  along with the occasional rock.  Enough snow to make for a pleasant outing on and off the trail.

Jan 8th Wolf-Blanchet Loop (Trail #62)

Conditions were good today thanks to much better than expected snowfall since yesterday.  Still some rocky and icy patches in various areas but conditions overall were pleasant.   Another 8cm of snow fell while we were out on the trail.  More details to follow later on.

Dec 24th on Trail #61 & 62

Snow on the trail was firmly packed but there was still lots of nice untouched snow off the trail.  A few more rocks on the trail than last time, but still not a significant issue.

Trail #61 and #62 Sunday, 19th December 2010

Nice first outing today, thanks to encouraging trail condition reports from Peter Dudley on his blog. Had lots of fun in the powder off the beaten path, feels good to finally get the season started!
