Lac Phillippe vicinity
Beautiful sunny day. Great scenery.
Can't believe what Demsis did to trail 56. From Taylor to the look out it is a snowmobile trail. No tracks at all and yet not wide enough to skate ski. There was no reason for this with the hard pack underneath. It is fast and bumpy but in many locations there is enough room to groom natural tracks beside their "grooming". It would have been glorious if Demisis did not exist. What can I do to stop the destruction I am seeing every week?

It might be difficult to hang this on Demsis as #56 is a back-country trail – in past years it was “compacted” with a snowmobile periodically. However, with the new regime of not tracking backcountry trails the question is why a snowmobile was used. If it was for access to the Lac Richard yurt then there would be no need for using #56 – it can be accessed via the Eardley Side Road – it’s only 1 km from the road. Certainly, a skied track would have been superior to wwhat you describe.
