It started out great. I headed south from P6 on the parkways down to Penguin and then Ridge out to the Fire Tower. The parkways and from Penguin to the FP had all been regroomed over night and were fantastic. I thought it would be one of the great days because the grooming up Penguin and along Ridge was perfect! I figured that if it was like that to the FT I would have to write a letter to Demsis about what a great company they are. Unfortunately the groomer turned left at the FP. Ridge, 1b, 24, and out to the FT had not been groomed. It wasn't bad but it was a bit firm to begreat. As I knew from yesterday there was not grooming at all past McKinstry. Very much worth it to get out there. Demsis seems to have figured out how to groom in minimal snow conditions, its too bad that today they just didn't groom Ridge all the way.
I decided to go for a walk and brought my skis along. My route was from P12=>#40=>#24=>#1=>#2=>#40=>P12. Its hard to imagine going back there after 3 days when it was still skiable, and WOW so bare as the pics show, every trail that. . .

Just to settle my mind that winter was really ending, I headed to P8 in shorts and sneakers intending to walk on the bare pavement and photograph the snow in its death throws. But surprisingly it was (relatively) hopping with skiers!! One skier nam. . .
Going ....going..... almost gone.......... Started out from P10=>FP=>Ridge to Shilly Shally=>back same way. With all that said not too often you get to ski in shorts and t-shirt, even if the skiing is not good its fun to do.

Opted for the doldrums this weekend on the presumption that P10 Fortune Parkway would be packed. Pleasantly surprised to see Demsis had groomed the Doldrums both Saturday and Sunday. In the past they seemed to give up whenever spring weather starte. . .
Skied out of P16 today. Good conditions in general. The first climb is a little dicey but skiable(excpet the bridge was dry). That may have changed in the time it took me to drive home as things were melting fast. Regardless, if you take the time to . . .

With the memory of the conditions yesterday I thought that today would be good to take my waxless Fischer Crowns to the tower for their first time. Going up #40 I began to realize that today was a very dif. . .
Good news and bad news although still skiable from P6, P8, P10, P12, the bad news is scratch P19 from the list. My route was P19=>#50=>#55=>Taylor lake and back same way.
Trail #50 was so so till you got to the first downhill at the gate . . .
