You’ve likely heard about the accident near Luskville in which a bear, struck by one car, was thrown into the path of a second, killing two people (and the bear).
That bear was undoubtedly one that frequented Gatineau Park and serves as a reminder for people scooting up and down the parkways.
Take it easy.
Slow down.
You’re supposedly on the parkway in the first place because you want to be in a natural environment so why not take the time to enjoy it at a leisurely pace; safer too.
Due to the closure of the parkway I took Meech Lake road and a bear crossed my path crossing the road. It turned to look at me (stopped) and bounded into the bush. It was about ten feet from me! I turned back on my bike and went back up the parkway toward Champlain lookout.
