Ken added a link here to some photos of the tulips at MacKenzie King Estate.
But something went wrong; at first his pics didn’t show up. Even the link to his pics didn’t show up.
What happened? Well Ken included a link to his photostream at flickr and GuideGatineau tried to convert that flickr URL directly into a picture. If you plunk a single picture URL into either the comments at GuideGatineau or the activity stream it will do that successfully. But the website recognized the URL as being flickr so suppressed the link, but couldn’t figure out which image it should show, so didn’t show anything at all.
So the tip is this. Please do add flickr pictures, but do so using the individual picture URLs.

Charles Hodgson posted an update in the group Gatineau Park Entrances: 8 hours, 2 minutes ago · View On May 5th 2010 the NCC website was updated with some detail on the Park Entrances project. The web page has a google map with some explanitory notes and the NCC entry includes the following info:
This project begins in summer 2010, and will improve the many Park gateways, with the following objectives:
* to convey to visitors a sense that they are entering the Park and to welcome them to the Capital’s conservation park;
* to identify the Park as an NCC entity; and
* to communicate to visitors the key messages of the Park’s conservation mandate.
A total of $2.4 million will be invested in this project…
