Update: note Marc’s comment below.
The following image has appeared (and was quickly removed) on the “winter” portion of the Gatineau Park website, implying that this winter, in addition to charging skiers for trail passes, the NCC plans to ask snowshoe enthusiasts to also purchase a pass.
I phoned the Visitor Centre in Gatineau Park and they confirmed that this was the plan, although it has not yet been announced.
Bring Back the Old Trail Names
Sign the petition asking the NCC to revive trail names like Merry-Go-Round (now #11), Chicken Run (now #14) and Pipe Dream (now #20 & #21).
Buy the Historic Trail Map
The NRC which holds copyright has graciously allowed the sale of the 1967 Gatineau Park ski trails map to continue through the print run.

The cards that GuideGatineau has begun distributing to promote the website are considered to be highly environmentally responsible due to the fact that the paper used is 100% recycled and is produced using energy from biofuels plus the ink is vegetable based. Snowshoe Trail Reports
I just called the Visitor’s Centre and was told the update on the Web site was a mistake and that we would NOT be charged for snowshoeing in the Gatineau park. The Web pages should be corrected by tomorrow.
