Jo-Ann appears to have been the first to report on ski conditions with the new snow and posted 4 images at Musician on Skis.
The NCC tells us 16% of the trails are a go and lists a number that have been “compacted.” I guess they don’t consider there’s been enough snow for full grooming and are using skidoos to try and crunch the powder down to adhere to the ice below. That’s what’s happening in this image detail from one of Jo-Ann’s photos. The NCC site says “Due to the icy base and dry snow accumulation, tracksetting operations cannot be performed today.”

Demsis, this is pretty lame.
Snow was packing just fine under the skis. Almost enough moisture in the snow to make snowballs.
