The Gatineau Valley Historical Society is repeating last winter’s snowshoe this fall without the winter footwear. They tell me:

Interpretive Hike to Brown Lake in Gatineau Park Saturday October 29, 2011 at 10:00 a.m.

Pack a picnic lunch and enjoy a hands-on history lesson about the Browns and other settlers around Brown Lake in the early 1900s. Join local historian Ken Bouchard in a repeat of his popular guided interpretive hike. Participants will gather at the far west end of Carman Road (on the west side of Highway 105) before 10:00 a.m on Saturday October 29. Half the cars will remain there with participants shuttling to Parking Lot 17. The walk will end back at Carman Road no later than 2:30 p.m.

Sturdy walking shoes and a supply of water recommended. Contact Ken for preregistration or other questions via [email protected] or at 819-459-1015.
