Parkway Cycling Report

Saturday I joined the Social Bike group and we did the loop P3, Gatineau Parkway, Fortune Parkway, Champlain Lookout then down Champlain Parkway and home.

The Parkways have been swept free of the sticks and debris since the snow melted but some of the fallen branches remain on the grass beside the pavement. Where these were large the NCC has cut them up for firewood and I'd suppose they are going to be moved to the Lodges for use in the wood stoves. Otherwise it was all go! And no cars since the gates are still closed.

When we started out it was +2°C and there was a dusting of fresh snow in the shady places.

  1. Charles – so glad you came along, your insights were highly enjoyable and we learned so much from you. I was suitable humbled by the first trip to the Lookout of the season (always happens!) and the legs were heavier than usual on today’s long run. But the silly smile from the long, fast descents is still being worn. Oh, and of course, no bugs yet – hurrah!
Happy riding! Hope to see you out again.
