This photo from 1972 caught my eye. Not only is Mort’s cairn prominent but the building now called Chalet des Erables is marked Fortune Lodge in this photo (click to enlarge). You can also see on the pickup Ottawa Ski Club Inc.
The early indications I’m getting from the NCC following my renewed request to have Mort’s cairn restored are encouraging.
